YOGA TEACHER
TRAINING EXPERIENCE
This is a soul-rocking, life changing opportunity to dig deep, connect, paint, play, laugh, cry and love. Understand samadhi (universal oneness) and the integration of nature and divinity by learning about medicinal plants, local ecology, permaculture, and conservation. Frolic in the waves, hike a magical rainforest, paddle majestic mangrove tunnels and unleash your inner child. Go zip-lining, surfing, whale watching and explore magnificent waterfalls on your days off!
Our training is designed to help you connect with and nurture your inner child through play, art, movement and nature. We will explore ancient teachings with dance, painting, journaling, and acro yoga. Understand how food is grown on a permaculture farm, connect barefoot to the Earth and move with intention.
A YOGI’S PARADISE
Uvita is a small village on the southwest coast of Costa Rica. It is notable for being located where the mountains most closely reach the Pacific Ocean and is the closest village to Marino Ballena National Park (roughly a 40 minute walk, or 5 minute taxi ride). This tropical hamlet possesses great charm in an unspoiled and serene atmosphere. With palm trees swaying in the wind, providing shady relief from the intense Pacific sun, there is plenty of outdoor options in this tropical paradise.
Uvita is the major stomping ground of Costa Rica’s whale and dolphin species. The nation’s most iconic and oft-spotted whale, the humpback, spends more than eight months a year in these waters – the longest humpback whale season in the world!

COURTNEY FLETCHER
FOUNDER, LEAD FACILITATOR

Hi, I’m Courtney, an ex-gymnast, spinally fused, 18-year yogi, Ashtangi, trained in India, whose practice draws from hatha, kundalini and vinyasa. My heart-centered approach evokes an understanding of interconnectedness through a focus on self-love, nature and seva (service). The intention being for my students to discover the light within that ignites their path to inner peace, the connection which opens the heart to universal love.
After 10 years as a competitive gymnast, lower back surgery brought my athletic ability to a halt. Looking for a way to ease the pain and regain strength and flexibility, I discovered yoga and immediately fell in love with the practice, quickly learning its transformational power over the mind and path to freedom. Embarking on this journey meant a lifelong quest for self-knowledge, love, and humility. In 2010 I volunteered in India and earned my yoga teaching certification. My time in India inspired me to establish my own NGO, Kids’ Foundation for Uniting Nations which connects and inspires kids around the world to initiate positive change through service.

Yoga has been such a wonderful part of my life for over 20 years now, and this practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully.
I completed my 200 hour training with Sacred Hot Yoga Method and some advanced training in trauma sensitive yoga, as well as several types of Reiki, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and other healing modalities. I also am a 300 hour trauma based RYT through Soulwork.
I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me.
In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of healing and a dose of inspiration to help all levels of practitioners deepen their practice. I seek to help others heal and love themselves more by nurturing body, mind and spirit with yoga, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, loved and balanced.

This first time I stepped on a yoga mat was the first time I pulled at a string that seems to be endlessly unraveling. Here I am, years later, pulling and unraveling, pulling and unraveling – only to remember that the work never really ends. This practice has given me my power back – the power of being aware enough to learn in every moment. I’ve learned that the only action between wanting to change and change is choice, that the ability to feel is a gift, & that this moment, right here, has all I need to “know”.
My teaching opens up the door for you to experiment with what you’ve got going on right here. I want to teach you to listen + be heard, to see + feel. Feel home in your body, and most certainly, sexy in your skin.
